To commemorate the remarkable start to the Argentine’s career in Major League Soccer (MLS), Lionel Messi and David Beckham, along with their wives, went to a truly extraordinary restaurant in Miami.
After leaving Paris Saint-Germain, Messi signed a contract with Inter Miami, joining forces with David Beckham, the club’s owner. Beckham is also the club’s technical director. The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner made a grand tackle by scoring a trademark free kick to secure victory over Cruz Azul in the final minute of the Leagues Cup match.
His first start came just a few days later, and he scored a brace in the first half of the game, leading to a resounding 4-0 victory over Atlanta United. After the event, Messi and Beckham, who is also a co-owner of the franchise, were seen celebrating in public.

At the opulent Gekko restaurant in Miami, they enjoyed their meal. In addition, they were joined by the recently signed Sergio Busquets, his wife Elena Galera and Jorge Mas, who is now co-owner of the team.
The Steakhouse, which is influenced by Japanese cuisine, is the favorite destination of the neighborhood’s celebrities. Messi and Beckham, along with their wives Antonela and Victoria, have been seen dining there. East Asian cuisine is Gekko’s specialty and the restaurant is best known for the wide selection of steaks it offers.
Particularly noteworthy is the fact that the menu features a 42-ounce slice that is known as “A5 Bone in Ribeye, Kagoshima, Mizusako,” and is priced at a staggering $1,200 (£940). As a backdrop for its customers, the interior is adorned with a contemporary design that is appealing to the eye and inspired by Japanese culture.
Before moving to Major League Soccer, Messi revealed that the way of life in the Sunshine State was a major factor in his decision to play for Inter Miami. “After winning the World Cup and not being able to go to Barça, the time came to go to the United States League to experience soccer in a different way,” he explained to journalists.

“I want to enjoy it more every day. Obviously with the same levels of responsibility and the same level of motivation to win and perform well in everything constantly. However, with a calmer demeanor.” What’s more, after eating at one of the best restaurants in the city, you undoubtedly had a good time having fun.
A large number of A-list celebrities attended the match played at DRV PNK Stadium the previous Friday, which was Messi’s debut, and then went to the restaurant in Miami after the match. There were several people present at Gekko, including reality star Kim Kardashian and NBA free agent Tristan Thompson.
During the summer of 2017, the Japanese-influenced steakhouse opened its doors to the public. Beckham, the CEO of Miami, was present at the launch along with Victoria, the wife of the Spice Girls. David Grutman, a hotel businessman, and Bad Bunny, a Puerto Rican musician, are the owners of Gekko.
